FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) – 3-Day Course
Take your skillset to the next level with the FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL), available through America’s Best AMT test center. This license is required by the FCC for technicians who repair and maintain radios, radar systems, and transponders in modern aircraft—and it also authorizes you to supervise unlicensed technicians. You are not required to attend an avionics school to obtain this license, making it one of the fastest and most valuable ways to expand your qualifications. The GROL is a powerful addition to your resume and demonstrates a higher level of technical capability and commitment to employers in aviation and beyond.
This 3-day course is designed to efficiently prepare you to pass the required FCC examinations through a combination of structured lectures, self-guided computer-based study, and on-site practice testing. To obtain your GROL, you must pass FCC Written Element 1 and Element 3. Most students also choose to add the Radar Endorsement (RE) by completing FCC Written Element 8. What’s included: comprehensive written exam preparation, on-site computerized testing, and full exam administration at our designated FCC testing facility. Your course fee includes the exams, with a separate $25 testing facility fee. Please note, the FCC requires a $35 licensing fee paid directly to them after your results are submitted.
Upon successful completion of your exams, your results will be emailed within 72 hours, and we will electronically submit your application to the FCC through their Universal Licensing System (unless you opt out during registration). Processing typically takes 7–10 business days. After purchasing the course, you must complete the Student Agreement using the link below to secure your seat. Please do not complete the Student Agreement before purchasing, as submissions made prior to payment will not be recognized in our system and your registration will be void. Failure to complete the agreement after purchase may result in delays or loss of eligibility.
