How to register for an FAA exam?

(This is for all FAA exams)

 

Step 1: If an applicant does not already have an FAA Tracking Number (FTN), he or she will need to register for one through the Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA) website.

EVERY applicant MUST have an FTN

(this replaces what was formerly known as the ‘Applicant ID’ on the Airman Knowledge Test Report (AKTR)

 

Step 2: If the applicant does not already have an account with PSI, he or she will create a new account through the PSI Website.

If an applicant already has an account,

he or she will need to log in to their existing account.

A PSI account is required to register for an FAA Airman Knowledge Test.

 

Step 3: Register for your exam through the PSI Website.

 

To ensure a hassle-free experience on the day of your test, it is crucial that you have proper identification and that your endorsement (if required) closely matches the recommendations in FAA Advisory Circular 61-65E, Appendix 1 (Endorsements).  Specifically, the correct FAR authorizing you to take the exam must be cited and the correct FULL name of the test should be included. All endorsements must be a hard copy; no digital endorsements will be accepted. You must print your endorsement.
